YouTube Comments About Peggy Claude-Pierre

I have been looking up online/YouTube eating disorder recovery videos and articles. One person who has gotten both good and bad reviews is Peggy Claude-Pierre. I’ve read other things online, and it seems that the overall view is that she brings a lot of controversy. I think it’s important for people to really look into anyone they might want help from. I thought I had, and still ended up with a negative end result with more to recover from.

I’ve found it really sad that there is so much controversy about Peggy. A lot of her ideas are good, but it seems the implementation of those ideas might not be OK. And money is a recurring theme. I wonder how much the media exposure changed things. Some folks who were at the clinic in Canada did not have good things to say. Several who were considered ‘cured’ have died. But having a restrictive eating disorder, the whole idea of the core issue being lack of self worth does feel very right. I remember seeing the 20/20 video back in the late 90s not long after I’d returned from a horrible place in California, and thinking that it was amazing how well she understood what is at the core of the disorder.

I’ve linked an article that seems to look at both sides since she was interviewed for it. The YouTube comments are ‘copied and pasted’ from YouTube. I will not expose the authors’ names as they are on YouTube. I personally think it is wise to follow the old idea that you don’t get a lot of smoke if something isn’t burning… The dates on these vary from over a decade ago to a year ago.

These are not my words:

“Just today, I saw a report on Portuguese television about this woman. She set up a new “clinic” (really a bunch of apartments) in the Algarve. For a while she actually convinced actual doctors to work for her. She’s now being investigated by the Portuguese Public Ministry for her schenanigans (which include actual deaths).”

“… Some of the employees care very deeply about their work and ultimately, they did save my life. BUT I firmly believe that Peggy and some senior staff take advantage of desperate families and sick young people. She knew exactly how to talk to my family and made many promises that weren’t kept. I could go on with examples but I’ll keep it short. Twelve years later and I’m still pretty outraged at some of the care I received. Oh yeah, my parents paid $100,000 USD. I could never do what she did in good conscious (sic).”

1 year ago … “….This are indeed the patients Peggy-Claude Pierre loves. I just told her my father lost all of his money because of a scam. And she is suddenly not interested anymore. We could easily buy a castle, but then of course you know what eyes and other interest Peggy-Claude Pierre has to be with us… .”
(not sure if English is this person’s first language)
